 UNEXPECTED TURN IN THE ROAD

Written by Denise Ganulin c2018

I REMEMBER READING YOU STORIES AT NIGHT

WATCHING THE RAIN BY CANDLELIGHT
LAUGHING AT ALL THE SILLY THINGS WE USED TO DO
ALL THOSE SPECIAL CUDDLES IN BED

ALL THOSE KISSES ON THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD
THE WONDERFUL TIMES WHEN IT WAS JUST ME AND YOU
THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU AND THAT LIFE WERE GONE
NOW I'M JUST NOT SURE HOW I'M GONNA GO ON

TELL ME, WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS UNEXPECTED TURN IN THE ROAD?
IS THERE AN OUT AND WHICH WAY SHOULD I GO?
I STILL FEEL THE LOVE, I STILL FEEL THE PAIN
AND I WISH I HAD MY OLD LIFE AGAIN                            (CHORUS)
EVEN THOUGH I KNOW WISHING WON'T MAKE IT SO
TELL ME, WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS UNEXPECTED TURN IN THE ROAD?

I STILL SEE YOU RIDING YOUR VERY FIRST BIKE

AND OH HOW WE FLEW OUR VERY FIRST KITE
AND MAKING TENTS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LIVING ROOM
ALL OUR SPECIAL HOLIDAYS

ALL OUR FUN AND OUR CRAZY WAYS
LIKE FLYING AROUND ON OUR HALLOWEEN WITCHES BROOMS
I NEVER THOUGHT THERE'D BE A TIME YOU WOULDN'T BE HERE
OR THAT I'D BE SEEING EVERYTHING THROUGH TEARS

                                  (REPEAT CHORUS)

I THOUGHT I KNEW WHERE I WAS GOING
SO SURE OF THE ROAD AHEAD
THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED DIRECTION
NOW I JUST FEEL LOST INSTEAD

 (REPEAT CHORUS)
